  With neither of us getting any younger and with the carrot of “retirement” dangling in front of us but always seeming just out of reach, not to mention feeling more than slightly embarrassed by our financial situation, we finally decided to bite the bullet and take advantage of a free Superannuation Seminar held recently by Sage Business Group to see if we could get an insight into improving our current financial situation and find out where we needed to be.
  We found the seminar to be very informative and enlightening and run in such an informal and interactive way. The highlight of the evening for me came at the end when my husband (who’s always been very good at sticking his head in the sand when it comes to anything regarding finances) said to Pablo one of the presenters “we need to come and see you”.
  
  Needless to say I wasted no time in securing the free follow-up meeting for both my husband and myself with Pablo from Sage Wealth.
  Instead of being told we’ve left it all too late, Pablo was able to look at our overall financial position and offer (easy to understand) suggestions and advice on what we can do at our stage of life to ensure our transition into retirement runs as smoothly and as financially viable as our circumstances allow.
  
  Pablo introduced us to the possibility of “superannuation splitting” (something we’d never heard of) which will enable us to make the most of using the tax benefits of salary sacrificing to put a dent in our mortgage (which we’ve felt hanging over us like a dark cloud).
  My husband and I both came away from our initial meeting feeling far more positive than we’ve felt in a long time (with the knowledge that whilst financial planning should be something we considered and discussed earlier, all is not lost, there is light at the end of the tunnel) and are now preparing to engage these new strategies to ensure our future.
  
  My advice to anyone who’s thinking it’s all too hard or it’s too late to take control of your finances is simply to get in and see these guys, lay it on the line (they don’t judge), listen to what they have to say and more importantly, if you like what you hear, follow their advice (they’re the experts after all).

  After coming across McMahon Osborne Group, now known as Sage Business Group last year when I was contacted by their lovely receptionist Raelene to purchase some eggs from my Rescue Chickens then being bombarded with a massive order from the rest of the staff, I was greated by an office of staff like no other.
  Previously working in the legal industry for over 20 years, I can honestly say I had never come across an office team where every level of staff worked so well and treated each other with so much respect and dignity.
  
  From there, I made my choice without hesitation who I wanted to use when setting up the accounting side of my Not For Profit Horse and Disability Therapy Centre. Tim one of the Partners was very easy to deal with and easily contactable.
  
  I would not hesitate to recommend Sage Business Group to anyone looking for an accountant.

  From the time we walk into the reception until we leave we are always made to feel like we are a part of the McMahon Osborne family. When Craig and I decided to take a leap of faith and set up our self-managed fund we have always been in the wonderful guiding hands of all of the fantastic staff. Emails, phone calls are never an issue and always responded to promptly and if I have to mention just one staff member I must say Vanessa Riggio has the patience of a saint as usually everything she emails to us or posts to us for either an electronic signature or such we mess up and she has to guide us through it. The whole team are just wonderful.
